At Middletown Dental, you'll find a state-of-the-art environment designed with your comfort in mind! Dr. Sukumar invests in the latest technology to make your visits to our office more pleasant and efficient. Here is some of the technology you'll enjoy when you come to Middletown Dental.
Digital X-rays
Digital x-rays offer many benefits to our doctors, patients, and the environment. For patients, they emit 80% less radiation than traditional x-rays, and they're readily available for immediate viewing with your dentist. They're also easy to transfer or share with other pertinent doctors.
For our doctors, they offer a clearer image that allows for more accurate diagnosis. They also give our doctors the ability to see things internally that can't be detected with the naked eye during an examination.
For the environment, there are no harsh chemicals required for processing, which means less negative impact on the environment.
The Intraoral Camera
The intraoral camera takes full color photos of your teeth and mouth. It's much easier to understand your treatment needs when you can see decay, fractures, or other issues in your photos. The intraoral camera is an excellent diagnostic and educational tool for our patients.
CBCT
CBCT (cone beam computed tomography) is a special type of X-ray used to produce three dimensional (3D) images of your teeth, soft tissues, nerves and bones. CBCT scans can help determine whether there is adequate bone for implant placement and proper positioning of implants for a more precise and efficient placement surgery.
Rotary Endodontics
Rotary endodontics makes root canal therapy more comfortable for patients. Instead of using manual tools to remove infected tissue from inside your tooth, Dr. Sukumar uses electric hand tools. This also helps to make the treatment more efficient as electric tools work faster than hand tools.
Soft Tissue Laser
The soft tissue laser allows us to deliver chair side treatment for canker sores/ cold sores, reduce bacteria in non-surgical periodontal treatment, and perform crown lengthening and tissue removal quickly and safely with minimal discomfort or bleeding and an accelerated healing process.
The Wand
The Wand is a computer assisted anesthesia system, which controls the flow rate, pressure and volume when anesthesia is delivered to patients. This allows for the delivery of anesthetic below the patient´s pain threshold, providing a significantly more comfortable injection than what is possible with the traditional dental syringe.
